AVG went bonkers on me..... it kept displaying a pop-up message
saying that I was misusing it for network use when I had only
installed it on my laptop, and that I could be held liable for
doing so.
I shot their tech support an email and basically told them 'I am
using your software for my own personal use. I'm a technoidiot who
does not even know how to configure it for network use if I want
to! So why the heck do I keep getting these messages?!?!'
They replied with some really vague and meandering advice... but I
suppose it could be summed up as, 'Our software is not the problem.
You are the problem.'
In the end, I uninstalled it and downloaded Avast antivirus (free
version) instead. Not as user-friendly as AVG, but it does its
job.
